Is a term commonly used by home audio enthusiasts and home stereo listeners to associate denote high quality reproduction of sound that is very close to the original master recording. It was during the 1950s and 1960s when HI FI system became popular. During those periods, HI FI strictly refers to equipment that has negligible or barely discernible level of noise and distortion.

Like different camera lenses, they all offer a slightly different view that, ideally, helps us see a little more clearly. I was talking about suicide intervention tonight, and a pillar metaphor came to mind.
